Our reputation for achieving results with this difficult population has led to the following recognition throughout the years:
- 1992 - The State of Illinois chose New Moms as the shelter program model used by DCFS in providing housing for pregnant and parenting wards-of-the-state.
- 1996 - The Ounce of Prevention Fund/Parents Too Soon chose New Moms and its Rising Star Career Readiness Program as its pilot welfare-to-work program.
- 1998 - Crown Financial Ministries chose New Moms as a national pilot site for career aptitude assessment materials designed for high-risk urban youth.
- 1999 - New Moms was featured in "A Heart for the City" master's level college textbook on urban needs and programs.
- 2000 - Featured in a manual and video package highlighting model welfare-to-work programs in the United States.
- 2004 - The Night Ministry, Latino Coalition for Prevention, State Representative Cynthia Soto, the Ounce of Prevention Fund, and the Partnership to End Homelessness all endorsed New Moms' successful grant application to the Illinois Department of Human Services to receive $129,000 to expand our Cooperative Living transitional shelter program and enhance our Rising Star Career Readiness Program.
