Introducing the Spare Change for New Moms - Baby Bottle
Fundraising Program ...
What Is It?
New Moms, Inc. has launched a fun and easy fundraising project
for churches, schools or businesses to participate in – it
allows a committed group to get involved in a project that
helps our client moms and children. We provide participating
organizations with a bulk quantity of baby bottles. The organization's
volunteers then distribute the bottles at a time of their
choosing. The congregation members, students or employees
take them home and fill them up with the spare change they
have around their homes. On a pre-determined date, everyone
returns the filled baby bottles. It's as easy as that --
and – the money raised will have a tremendous impact
on our ability to serve young families who are trying so
hard to turn their lives around!
What Do You Do?
1. After your group has decided to participate in the “Spare
Change for New Moms” Baby Bottle program, fill out the
attached form that will detail your particulars — date,
duration of the program, etc. and fax (773-252-5320) mail,
or e-mail it back to the attention of Suzanne Devane.
2. We will customize promotional materials — posters
and bulletin/newsletter announcements — to meet your
specific needs. Let us know how many people you estimate will
participate and we will determine the number of bottles you
will need. If you are unsure as to the number of bottles, we
can help you estimate.
3. Approximately two to three weeks prior to the event, make
arrangements to have the newsletter/bulletin announcement placed
in the bulletin. If permitted, hang posters throughout the
church vestibule, school, coffee break rooms, etc.
4. On the first day of the funding drive, your volunteers
will hand out bottles. People take the bottles home, collect
their spare change in the bottles and then return them at the
end of the specified time period (usually 2 weeks).
5. At the end of the collection drive period, your volunteers
should be at a designated area to collect filled bottles. Most
bottles will be returned on the specified day; however, there
are always people who forget, so a second day may be needed
to collect bottles.
6. Call us and we will make arrangements to pick up the filled
bottles from the designated contact person.
